Who We Are

The members of the Tennessee Affiliate of the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences are committed to strengthening and improving the professional standards of Extension educators working in the areas of Family and Consumer Sciences. TEAFCS members are dedicated to promoting fellowship and networking opportunities while stimulating recognition of outstanding leadership and achievement.

The Tennessee Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (TEAFCS) objectives are to:

  • Provide a permanent state organization for Family & Consumer Sciences of the University of Tennessee Extension;
  • Strengthen and improve professional standards;
  • Provide opportunity for recognition of outstanding leadership and achievement;
  • Provide media for the exchange of ideas and methods;
  • Promote fellowship among its members, and;
  • Strengthen regional associations and stimulate member participation.

TEAFCS membership is open to an Extension employee working in any capacity with family and consumer sciences or home economics programming, who has a minimum of a bachelor's degree.
