This program has been designed to provide Extension educators with PowerPoint presentations which address immunizations across the life span. The program was developed with funds provided by the National Extension Health Initiative, Healthy People . . . Healthy Communities, for distribution through the National Immunization Workgroup.
The PowerPoint presentation is composed of four sessions. Session One discusses what immunizations are and the role of immunizations in protecting health, and provides tips for keeping up with your immunizations. What immunizations are important for children and teens are addressed in Session Two. Adult immunizations are covered in Session Three. A presentation on the influenza (Flu) vaccine is provided in Session Four. This program can be presented in its entirety or in parts depending on the audience. Photos of people with vaccine-preventable diseases (http://www.vaccineinformation.org/photos/) can be added to a presentation. Consider offering specific sessions during Children's Health Month in October, National Adult Immunizations Awareness Week in October, National Infant Immunization Week in April, and National Immunization Awareness Month in August prior to school starting in the Fall.
