YouthWho can be an EFNEP participant?
Any youth from a limited-income family living in a rural or urban area.


Who delivers the education?

Paraprofessionals and volunteers

Nutrition education for youth covers the following areas:

  • Breakfast
  • Snacks
  • Food labels
  • Food safety
  • Food science
  • Fitness
  • Healthy food choices

What type of education is provided?
Program assistants and volunteers provide education using a curriculum called "Food Works." Youth receive six to seven lessons on average.
